Domaine d'Esperance

Domaine d’Esperance is a small producer in the Bas Armagnac district of Gascony in Southwest France that makes one of our favorite white wines to enjoy with food or by itself. 

Jean-Louis and Claire, the Comte & Comtesse de Montesquiou purchased Domaine d'Esperance in 1990.  When they first began, the estate consisted of an 18th century country house surrounded by vineyards on the gently rolling hills of Gascony, situated between Toulouse and Bordeaux.  The hillside property had been left run wild and in much need for restoration but it had a reputation in the past for producing excellent white wine and Armagnac.  Jean-Louis and Claire have now fully restored the house and the vineyards to their former glory.  The property covers 35 hectares of vineyards, producing white and red wine, also an Armagnac and an Eau de Vie.

The Cuvee d'Or, which is made from Savignon Blanc and Gros Mansang, is light, refreshing, flavorful and delicious. The Cuvee Rouge is a blend of Merlot and Tannat, producing a delicious and structured wine that is classic French bistro style.
